COFCO Engineering & Technology: First Successful Slide on China's First Snowmobile and Sled Track Release Time : 2020-12-04
Recently, the Chinese national Winter Olympic team conducted its first successful on ice training on the National Snowmobile and Sled Center’s track.

The project of National Snowmobile and Sled Center, of which COFCO Engineering & Technology participated in the design and construction, has the first snowmobile and sled track in China. It is one of the most exciting events in the Winter Olympics. With the maximum design speed of 135 kilometers per hour, the track has posed the greatest design and construction challenges requiring the highest level of technology. Consisting of sixteen curves with different inclination, the race track is 1,975 meters long with a vertical drop of over 120 meters. It is also the only Olympic track in Asia with a 360° roundabout curve.

COFCO Engineering & Technology successfully completed the track cooling and ice making work for the second time at the end of September after cooling the National Snowmobile and Sled Center track and making ice for it for the first time in March this year. This cooling and ice making work indicates the completion of both the safety and stability test for the project’s refrigeration system in full load operation and the track cooling and ice making work in the autumn, not only providing venue for the national team to train in our country’s own track as soon as possible but also laying the foundation for the completion of the certification of the track by the international individual organization.

Athletes from the national snowmobile team and sled team who began their training in the Center on October 9th commented favorably on the ice quality of the track. At present, COFCO Engineering & Technology has completed the design and construction of the ammonia refrigeration and automatic control system. It will continue to provide comprehensive services such as technical support, system operation and maintenance, and event support for the National Snowmobile and Sled Center project in the future.
