COFCO held the ceremony for its rice processing project in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region put to production on August 6, 2011. The project is located at Pingluo Industrial Park, Shizuishan City.
It is COFCO's first state-of-art rice processing project in West China. It will introduce the Region's good quality rice to other high-end domestic markets, completing COFCO's rice industry chain. It is also instrumental to growth of relevant local industries and increase of farmers' incomes.
The project covers 32,000 square meters. The designed skulling capacity is 110,000 tons and the designed processing capacity is 70,000 tons. It is one of the most modern, automatic and intensive rice plants in West China.
Ningxia boasts of natural advantages in rice growing. COFCO's Ningxia rice processing project is a significant move in make full use of local agricultural resources, which is instrumental to local development and construction.
